Obituary

Age 89 of Boynton Beach, FL, died June 23, 2008. He lived in this area since 1972 coming from Massapequa Park, LI, NY. Louis served as a Staff Sgt. in the US Army in the China-Burma-India Theatre of Operations during WWII. He survived the bombing of the HMT Rohna troopship and was awarded a Purple Heart. Louis was a dedicated leader of the Boy Scouts of America for over 50 years and served in many leadership positions from Scout Master to District Commissioner. Louis was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Boynton Beach where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Louis is survived by his wife, Ida; a daughter, Margarita (William) Worhle; three sons, Peter Louis (Deirdre) Bartolotta, Louis Peter (Esme) Bartolotta and Robert Bartolotta; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am, Friday, June 27, 2008 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Boynton Beach. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm at Boynton Memorial Chapel. Interment will take place at the South Florida VA National Cemetery, Lake Worth. Those who wish may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the Boys Scouts of America.
