Obituary

Lucille Ricca passed away on January 23, 2020.

Born in Manhattan on July 12, 1923, grew up in Brooklyn until she moved and raised her family in East Paterson, New Jersey. Later lived in Staten Island, New York, and Iselin, New Jersey until she moved to Boynton Beach, Florida.

During her life, Lucille worked in various clerical jobs but primarily was a proof-reader for a book publishing company. In addition, she volunteered her time with the Museum Guild in Staten Island, New York and served as Historian of American Legion Auxiliary Post 471 in Iselin, New Jersey.

Lucille and her beloved husband of 35 years, Al, were avid square dancers until his death in January 2004. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing. She was a passionate reader and continued to enjoy books on tape as well as AARP magazines even with her limited vision. Always seeking to maintain her independence, Lucille walked a half-mile regularly outside and exercised with Silver Sneakers.  She loved being with people and enjoyed many activities offered where she lived.

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Ricca, daughter Patricia Orlando, brother Salvatore Arcieri and nephew Kevin Gorman. She is survived by her daughter Eileen Guadagnino (Michael), son Albert Ricca Jr, six grandchildren: Vincent Orlando (Rosa), Maria Orlando, Thomas Russell, Donald Russell, Ann-Marie Imbriano (Christopher) and Tina Mosher (Tod) ; eleven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Josephine Gorman and her nephews Brian Gorman (Rose), Dennis Gorman (Roseanne) and niece Linda Gorman.  She will also be forever remembered by her five great-niece and nephews and three great-great niece and nephews.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Boynton Memorial Chapel.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday. January 29, 2020, at 10:00 am, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
