Lucy Scherwin, née La Marca, age 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at her home in Boynton Beach. She was born on May 18, 1950, in Staten Island, NY, to Philip and Margie La Marca. She was a graduate of St. John Villa Academy High School. She worked as a telephone operator at the American Bureau of Shipping where she met her future husband, John Scherwin. They were married on March 21, 1971, in Staten Island. She enjoyed a life of travel and meeting new people; and lived for a time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as well as Morganville, New Jersey and The Woodlands, Texas. She loved to read, paint, cook, and do puzzles of all kinds. She was guided by her faith, strong sense of values, and humor. She was a lover and spoiler of dogs. Throughout her life, she was very close to her older sister, Marianne, and to her cousins. She devoted her early adult years to raising her children and taking care of her family. Later, she returned to the workforce as a sales assistant and home selections design consultant for new home builders in The Woodlands. She retired to Boynton Beach, FL with her husband in 2011.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John; her daughter, Jennifer; her son, Christopher; and her beloved grandchildren, Alexandre, Elizabeth, Layla, and Carter.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at The Boynton Memorial Chapel.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at 10:00 am, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

Entombment to follow at 11:45 am, at The Boca Raton Mausoleum.
