IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucy
Yonnetti
March 14, 1927 – October 14, 2017
Lucy Yonnetti was born on March 14, 1927 in The Bronx, NY. At the age of 14. She met a handsome neighbor named Allen Yonnetti and they became very fond of eachother. Grandma & Grandpa finally allowed her to go to a movie with Allen at age 16. At that time, a movie cost 27 cents. The relationship blossomed until they finally said "I Do" on April 26, 1947. They had the typical married life in those days where Mom was the homemaker and Dad went to work. There were some hardships along the way, but Mom was always there for support and ultimately raised two children. They were fortunate enough to celebrate their 65 th Wedding Anniversary together. Five years ago, we lost Dad to congestive heart failure and Mom's health became our focus.
Lucy loved her children, Edward and Elaine, her grandchildren, Kelly Rooney Cowin and Jesse Rooney and her great-grandson, Erik Cowin. She loved her family, her friends and her memories! She loved to cook big Italian meals, entertain, bowl, and crochet. She loved a good story, a good suspense movie, Frank Sinatra music and a good Italian meal. She was very easy-going and a breath of fresh air for all, and added so much life to wherever she was. Lucy will be remembered for her beautiful smile and caring personality, that attracted others to her. She was nurturing, kind, thoughtful and genuine.
We are thankful she no longer suffers from the effects of heart disease and dementia and will cherish her memory forever!!!
