Mimi, the daughter of Pedro MacKay de Almeida and Sarah Ellen Wood, was born in Lebanon, NH on the Wood family farm. Mimi and her mother lived in the de Almeida family residence in Somerville, MA while she attended college. She graduated from Wellesley College in 1940. She met Craig Elliott Lundberg at Rochdale Institute in NYC. They were married in NYC, on February 22, 1941. While Craig served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, Mimi lived with her mother in Winchester, MA. She gave birth to her son, Christopher Paul, in 1943. After the war she and Craig moved to Acton, MA, where Mimi gave birth to her daughter, Jean Ellen, in 1948. While in Acton, she opened a pre-kindergarten school. Mimi was a lifelong academic. She earned a Masters and a PhD. from Tufts University and she taught at Boston University. In 1964, Mimi and Craig moved to Wayland, MA. She and Craig summered in Massachusetts with their daughter and son in law and she retired with Craig to Boynton Beach, Florida. Mimi continued to work on her academic interests in her retirement, researching Mediterranean archeology, Atlantis, and prehistoric navigation. Mimi is survived by: her husband, Craig; her son, Christopher of San Luis Obispo, CA; her daughter, Jean of Lancaster; her daughter in law Phyllis; her son in law Robert; her grandchildren Eric Lidstone, Tony, and David Lundberg. Celebration of Life ceremonies will be held in Boynton Beach, FL and in Lancaster, MA.
