Obituary

Margaret (Peggy) Rousseau, age 83, of Boynton Beach, Florida, died peacefully in her home January 15, 2010. Moving from New Bedford, Massachusetts, in 1944 at age 17, she made South Florida her home throughout her life.
Peggy, as she was fondly known, was married to John R. Rousseau, DVM, who predeceased her in 1996. She managed her husband's veterinarian office on US 1 in Boynton Beach for almost 40 years. Always eager to advance her knowledge, she pursued numerous accounting, bookkeeping and computer courses. Peggy discovered a hidden talent in art during her busy life, and leaves behind a special legacy with her many oil paintings. Tennis was her passion as well, and more recently, her bowling team.
For years, Peggy was an active member of the Boynton Women's Club as well as being a member of the Bethesda Auxiliary since 1986. She loved her work with the Auxiliary where she volunteered in the Hospital's gift shop and participated in many special volunteer projects over the years. She was scheduled to work in the gift shop on Friday, January 15, 2010.
Peggy leaves behind her devoted daughter, Sheila Rousseau and husband Robert Taylor of Boynton Beach, son John (Bobby) R. Rousseau Jr. and wife Jayne, Atlantis, son James (Jimmy) L. Rousseau, Okeechobee; four grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Amanda and Patrick; one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn; and several nieces and nephews. Peggy was predeceased by daughter Christine Rousseau Caruso and grandson Trey Warren Rousseau.
Peggy will be missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the BOYNTON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 800 West Boynton Beach Boulevard, Boynton Beach with the Rev. Richard Florek, OFM Conv., Pastor of St. Mark Catholic Church, Boynton Beach presiding. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 PM until service time on Thursday.
