MARGERY "PEGGY" FARRINGTON TERRY, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away on January 14, 2016 at the age of 95. Born in New York City to G. Lansing Farrington and Adele Clinton she grew up in Brooklyn, graduated from Packer Collegiate Institute and earned a degree in mathematics at Mount Holyoke College. She worked for 6 years on Wall Street for Brown Brothers Harriman. In 1947 she married Raymond G. Terry of Bay Shore, NY and the two of them spent many years cruising on the Great South Bay and up and down the Inland Waterway from Massachusetts to Key West as well as trying to get everywhere in the South Pacific before Conrad Hilton. Peg was a lover of classical music and served as president of the South Shore Symphony. She was a regent of the Saghtekoos Chapter of the DAR and also active in the American Red Cross, South Side Hospital and the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed the games of golf and tennis and was an avid and skillful bridge player.
She was a devoted mother to Cornelia Clinton Terry Ferguson (Robert) and adoring grandmother to Peter Gibson Ferguson and Abigal Ferguson Walsh (Jeffrey). She was predeceased by her dear husband Raymond G. Terry, and loving big sister Annette Farrington Raymond with whom she never had an argument.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. Paul's Church in Delray Beach, FL on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Manchester Music Festival, 42 Dillingham Avenue, Manchester, VT.
