Obituary

Marie Marlène Florus, born Marie Marlène St. Baptiste, 79, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away on October 1, 2026. Marlène was born on November 26,1946, in Cabaret, Haiti, to Michel St. Baptiste and Elpidia Charles.

In 1981, Marléne married the love of her life, Raymond Florus, in Port-au- Prince. Together, they shared 45 years of marriage and built a life filled with love.

Marlène dedicated her life to her family and to loving those around her. She was the heart of her family, pouring herself into raising her four children and six bonus children and loving each one as her own.

Her home was always open, her table always had room, and her heart always had more love to give. She was known for her beautiful smile, her styles, generous spirit, and unwavering compassion for anyone in need.

For many years, the countless children she lovingly transported to and from school affectionately called her “Madame Marlène” or “Tatie Marlène.” She treated each child with the same tenderness, care, and love she gave her own, making them feel safe, welcomed, and cherished.

Marlène had a gift for making everyone feel like family. Her kindness touched countless lives, and her love will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Her smile, her generosity, and above all, her love, will never be forgotten.

Marlène is survived by her husband, Raymond Florus. Children: Nadège Florus (Frantz Ridore), Sherlie Florus, Marlie Florus-Glezil (Pierre Glezil), Clifford Florus (Hengy Boulin-Florus). Her bonus daughters: Magalie Florus, Carline Marcellus, Marjory Florus, Patricia Florus, Maritzard Florus and Johane Florus. Her grandchildren, Anthony Goldman, Shawnley Guerrier, Ethan Michel, Jace-Owen Glezil, Maika Florus and Matéo Florus. Bonus grandkids, Olivier, Stephanie, Frantz, Fedorah, Ashley, Stanley, Vladimir, Taneisha, Elizabeth, Eisntein, Karl, Jiovanhi, Kaina and Stefan. Siblings, Marie St. Baptiste, Hughes Charles, Sonia Taine, Fritz Charles, Marie Marthe Auguste and Pedro Auguste. She was preceded in death by her parents Michel and Elpidia and sister Mirlène Charles.
