Martha Lou Richardson passed away peacefully on June 12th, 2023 at the age of 82.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Haydock Pinkham, father, Howard Pinkham (Marjorie), sister, Marjorie Tammaro, husband, Robert Richardson, son, David Richardson, and daughter, Susan Richardson Wilson.
Martha is survived by her son, Robert Jr. (Liliana), seven grandchildren, Linsey Richardson, Robert Richardson III, Lauren Richardson, Bryant Wilson, Kaitlin Simmons (Timothy), Christina Bonomini (Shawn), and Anthony Richardson, her great-granddaughter, Isabella Bonomini, and nephew, Vincent "Skip" Tammaro.
Martha was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on June 1, 1941. As a child, she spent her days playing on the banks of the Town River and Quincy Bays. After graduating from Howard Seminary for Girls, Martha met and married her first and only love, "Richie" in 1960. She worked as a secretary in the Massachusetts State House until she became a mother in 1962. Together, they raised their three children and fostered several more throughout their years in Massachusetts.
In 1970, the family moved to Boynton Beach, Florida. Martha and her family were active parishioners at St. Joseph's Episcopal Church for many years. After becoming a proud grandmother, Martha and her husband purchased Happiness Montessori School. Known as "Miss Marti", she loved and cared for hundreds of preschoolers for over ten years.
In 1997, Marti and Richie retired and relocated to High Springs, Florida, where they spent time caring for each other, their family, and their animals at their farmhouse. After the passing of her husband of 52 years, Martha returned to Boynton Beach to live near her son and his family.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 22 @ 11:00 am at Palm Beach Memorial Park Cemetery in Lantana, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in her memory.
