Mary Ellen Agnes Cunneen (nee Millar) was born in Westport, CT on December 11, 1930. She was also known as May by many family and friends. She was raised in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. After her graduation from St. Joseph High School, she was a secretary for an advertising firm. Mary met Charles in the Catskills and married in April 1953 in a double wedding ceremony with her sister Kitty and her husband Michael Wallace.
Mary was predeceased by her parents William Millar and Bridget (Burns) and her brother William Millar and sister Catherine (Kitty) Wallace (Millar). She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Charles and devoted children Kevin Cunneen (Peggy), Terry Reilly (Brian), Ellen Gordon (Fabian) and Maureen Moffatt. Mary also has 11 devoted grandchildren: Gregory Gibbons (Stephanie), Timothy Gibbons (Megan), Patrick Cunneen, Brendan Cunneen, Patrick Reilly, Connor Reilly, Christopher Gordon, Cara Gordon, Cassidy Gordon, Bridget Moffatt and Peter Moffatt. Mary had 2 great grandchildren who are JR Gibbons, and Blake Matthew Gibbons. She is also survived by many cousins and nieces and nephews.
She moved to Massapequa Park, NY in 1960 with her husband and raised her four children. After living there for 31 years, she split her time between Mountain Manor in Marshall's Creek, PA and at Quail Ridge, Boynton Beach FL. From 2009 – 2015 they spent their summers in Southold, NY. They moved to Delray Beach, FL in 2016 at Abbey Delray South.
Mary was a member of the Holy Rosary Society and also a Lady Commander with Star of the Holy Sepulchre.
Mary had an amazing sense of humor and love for her friends and family that will not be forgotten. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her dearly.
