Mary Cecelia Gundersen, affectionately known as Mae, passed away at the age of 100 on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Trustbridge Hospice, Gerstenberg Care Center, West Palm Beach, Florida. Born November 25, 1920 in New York City, youngest daughter of John and Mary O'Connor, Mary lived her formative years in Hudson County, New Jersey. She worked in customer service for Associated Firms, Ridgefield.

True to herself, Mae believed deeply in love of family, friends and faith. As such, she was a longtime member of St. James Episcopal Church, Ridgefield and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she held several leadership positions in her local chapter.

She wed her love of her life, her husband of 58 years George on Sept. 5, 1942. Together, they had two sons, George Gundersen of Boynton Beach, Florida and Steven of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Mae was blessed to have six grandchildren, Steven John, Christopher, Gabrielle, Megan Marie, Andrew and Nicole. Additionally, Mae had six great grandchildren, Clara, Sadie Jane, Kiran, Hayes, Athina and Veera Mae.
