Mary retired from the Broward County Public School District in 2008, where she worked as a teacher of adults with varying disabilities at the Ann Storck Center. She is remembered for the patience and kindness she showed her students.
Those who loved Mary will always remember her adventurous spirit, contagious smile, her determined pursuit of a great deal, and most of all her wonderful sense of humor. She lightened up the room and made everyone in her life better for knowing her. She cherished her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with the many special women in her life. She embodied the very definition of living life to the fullest by traveling and doing as much as she could despite the limitations she began experiencing later in her life.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, her family requests a donation to the American Lung Association.
