Mary E. (Silva) Pichierri, 81, of Boynton Beach, FL, and Worcester, MA passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at her home in Boynton Beach after a long and courageous battle with cancer, she was in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side.
Born on January 17, 1943, to William A. Silva and Sarah A. Silva (Koschuk) in Cambridge, MA, Mary moved to Worcester, MA, where she met her husband John, and graduated from Commerce High School in 1960.
Mary leaves her husband of 62 years, John J. Pichierri, of Worcester, daughters Lisa Barry of Boynton Beach and her husband Scott Barry and Lynda Holland of Shrewsbury and her husband Patrick Holland, Sr., her grandchildren Nicole L. Miller, Julia S. Miller, James H. Miller III and John (Jack) J. Miller of Worcester; Patrick Holland, Jr. of Worcester, Ryan Holland of Framingham and Chloe Holland of Shrewsbury. She is predeceased by her brothers, William and Richard.
Family was at the center of Mary's world. Her husband being her constant companion, along with her daughters, Lisa and Lynda, who gave her strength, comfort and love.
Mary helped establish and operated, the "Recycle Center" which served the Worcester Public Schools for many years. Mary's dedication to connecting the private sector's materials and supplies with countless teachers and students was a significant achievement of a life filled with energy, enthusiasm and generosity.
Mary and husband John lived and shared an abundance of experiences together. They enjoyed traveling to a variety of destinations. Whether by car or plane, boat or RV, they roamed far and wide, making friends and memories along the way. They also shared a love of golf, playing as often as they could! Music was another thread woven in the fabric of their lives and was shared with friends and family at concerts, small clubs and local restaurants.
Mary will be missed by many, her family, her friends (near and far), The Pearl's, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a service in Mary's honor in Boynton Beach and a service in Worcester at a later date. Details to follow.
Mary had many charities that were near and dear to her heart, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, just to name a few.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all of her doctors who helped to treat and care for Mary and recognize the wonderful people from MorseLife Health Systems both Palliative and Hospice Care.
