Mary Smolley Scott, formerly from Boynton Beach, FL was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 3, 1924. She was the daughter of Michael and Rosalia Smolley, Ukrainian immigrants from Western Ukraine.
She grew up in Spring Valley, NY and joined the Navy on her 20th birthday during WWII. She received an honorable discharge as a Petty Officer Naval Medical Corpsman.
