Michael W. "Mickey" Metras

Age 66, of Ocean Ridge, formerly of South Hadley, MA, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, November 1, 2008, with his loving family at his side. Mickey and his wife Debra were the owners of the Metras Insurance Agency in Chicopee, MA from 1985-2002. Mickey was an avid golfer, and was a longtime member of the Wyckoff Country Club in Holyoke, MA and an employee of the Westchester Country Club in Boynton Beach. In Massachusetts, Mickey was very active in local politics, and was also a member of the Independent Insurance Agents, the Elks Lodge, and had the distinction of being the youngest member to join the Knights of Columbus at just 21 years of age. Mickey was predeceased by his father, J.H. Mike Metras. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Debra A.; daughters Katherine Metras, Debra Metras, Sheri Metras, Kimberly (Rick) Ferrierra, and Laura Metras; grandchildren Kaila and Ricky Ferrierra; mother Nora Metras; sisters Gail Pelland, Dawn Artioli, and Kay Marchanko, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 1pm at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33426. Friends may visit starting at 12noon.
