Michael B. Schorah of Boynton Beach, aged 78, died peacefully on Monday, November 27th after battling cancer for many years. Michael was born in Birmingham, England on December 12, 1938 and moved to Bolton when their home was bombed during the war. He graduated from Bolton Institute of Technology in 1962 and became a member of the Institute of Structural Engineers. He worked for CWS Architects and Engineers in Manchester, England until he moved to Nassau, Bahamas in 1966 to work for Mosko Design & Construction. In 1971, he relocated to Bermuda to take a position with Marshall Bernardo Partnership until 1973 when he moved and settled in Florida. There he worked for Utilities Development Corp (UDC) leaving in 1976 to work for Weimer & Company as Project Manager and Design Engineer, until he founded Michael B. Schorah & Associates, Inc., Civil Engineers & Land Surveyors, as President and CEO. Mike and Edith, his loving wife, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on September 14th of this year, when they received a congratulatory card from Queen Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his only son, Mark, aged 48 in 2006. He is survived by his wife Edith, sister Jane, nephews Harvey and Alex, nieces Anna and Olivia, great nieces and nephews, all of Melbourne Australia; his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Mary Hall, niece Jennifer McManus, nephews Christopher Eccles and Neal Hall, along with nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews of Bolton, UK. He made homes in five (5) different countries, England, Spain, Bahamas, Bermuda and the United States of America, forming worldwide friendships orchestrated by his outgoing personality, insatiable fascination with people, wit and charm. He loved travel, golf, fast cars and soccer, being a life long supporter of Manchester United football club. He will be sadly missed by many. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Michael's name to either: Bethesda Heart Hospital or TrustBridge Hospice, both being located at 2815 S. Seacrest Blvd, Boynton Beach, FL 33435. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 1:00PM at the Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd. in Boynton Beach.
