Obituary

Mildred Rivera, age 73, of Jupiter Farms, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Mildred was born in Manhattan, New York, to Haydee Rivera Rodriguez and Miguel Torres Lugo, and later moved to Puerto Rico, where she spent part of her youth and created many of the memories she carried in her heart throughout her life. She shared her childhood with her younger brother, Gustavo Torres, with whom she had a close bond.

Growing up in New York, Mildred had a joyful spirit and loved staying active. She enjoyed ice skating and even explored acting at a young age, showing her confidence and love for life early on. She always had a creative eye and a strong personality, traits that stayed with her throughout the years.

While living in Puerto Rico, Mildred met Angel Rivera, the love of her life, whom she later married. Together they built a beautiful family and shared many years of marriage until his passing in 2016. From their union, they were blessed with three children, Yessica Rivera, Angel Rivera, and Miguel Angel Rivera, who were her greatest pride and the center of her life.

Mildred was a devoted mother and grandmother whose greatest happiness came from being surrounded by her family. She lived in Jupiter Farms, Florida with her middle child, but she made it a tradition to travel often to visit her daughter and younger son in Boynton Beach, where she spent weekends surrounded by her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Those moments were filled with laughter, music, and the game she loved most dominoes, a tradition she learned growing up playing with her father, Miguel Torres Lugo, and one she continued throughout her life.

She had a deep love for music and enjoyed listening to Bad Bunny, Marc Anthony, and Selena, whose songs always lifted her spirit. Mildred also loved cleaning and organizing — something she truly enjoyed — and she especially loved going shopping with her daughter, creating memories they both treasured.

Mildred had a true passion for interior design, and she proudly earned a degree in the field. Although she did not pursue it professionally, she expressed her talent in every home she lived in, always making each space feel warm, beautiful, and welcoming.

Throughout her life, Mildred showed incredible strength. Even while facing illness, she continued to fight with courage and determination. She was a hard-working woman, a fighter, and one of the strongest women her family knew, never allowing her disease to take away her love for life or for the people around her. Her resilience, faith, and strength will always be remembered by those who loved her.

She was a proud grandmother to Dominic, Jennifer, Christopher, Armani, Justise, Roman, and Rylie, and through life’s journey she was also blessed with three additional grandchildren, Jazmine, Alyssa, and Madyson, whom she gained through her daughter’s extended family and loved as her own.

Mildred Rivera is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, extended family, and many friends who will forever remember her for her strength, her laughter, her love of music and family gatherings, and the warmth she brought into every room.
