Obituary

Norma "Jean" Bainer departed her loving family on May 24 th , 2022 after a long, hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jean was born in Windber, PA on July 7, 1939 to Myrtle and Fred Pevahouse.

Jean is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ed and her two daughters Sharon and Wendy.  Her son, Eric, predeceased her in 2018.  She is also survived by her step-children Eddie, Joy and Jason along with 12 grandchildren and 3 great grand children.

Jean loved her family and being social and was well liked in her community, Greenspointe, where she lived with Ed for the past 8 years.  She was a member of the board there for some time and always loved to give back including volunteering at Bethesda West hospital and her favorite spot, the Bargain Box where she often came home with a treasure of her own! While she spent much of the last 50 years in South Florida, she also lived in the Charleston, SC area, Lancaster, PA, Washington D.C. area and Connecticut. She grew up in Windber and was just as social then being a high school cheerleader and homecoming queen.  She also loved to travel and we were all fortunate for the many trips including their trip two years ago to Italy – their first time in Europe.  We also enjoyed many family vacations in spots like Chicago, Nashville, New Orleans or often on a cruise to the Caribbean or some other fun spot.

Jean spent much of her career as a banker and did a stint as a Realtor when Wellington was just getting its start.  She retired 12 years ago.

She is also survived by her youngest brother Fred.  Her two other brothers and sisters predeceased her and we are sure they are all getting reconnected in heaven along with the many pets who no doubt were faithfully waiting at the rainbow bridge for her.  Surviving nieces and nephews include Cherrie and Mike (her sister Dorothy's kids), Kepi, Rick and Russell (brother Richard), Scott and Pam (brother Robert), Harry (sister Mae) and Sarah (brother Fred).

Services will be held at Boynton Beach Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd, Boynton Beach on June 11, 2022 at 2 p.m.  This will be followed by a community gathering at Greenspointe Condos pool, Greenspointe Dr, Boynton Beach at 4 p.m.

Jean loved fresh flowers, so if inclined please send to the Memorial Chapel or if you prefer make a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer action network .
