Age 69, of Boynton Beach, FL died Sunday, November 25, 2012. Nancy was born on November 21, 1943 in Leominster, Massachusetts. She graduated from Leominster High School in 1961. In 1981, she relocated to Edgewater, Florida with her family. She worked as a cosmetologist for several years in New Smyrna Beach until she decided to go back to school to become a nurse. She graduated from Daytona Beach Community College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She worked as an RN for Halifax Hospital and Halifax Hospice in Daytona Beach as an oncology nurse for 8 years. In 2000, she moved to Boynton Beach, Florida with her husband Richard Schlusemeyer, who preceded her in death. She retired from Bethesda Memorial Hospital in 2010, after working on the oncology unit for 10 years.
Nancy loved life more than anyone could imagine. Her smile and laugh were her trademarks. She loved shopping, gardening, spending time with family, her dogs, Disney and traveling. She was very fortunate to do much traveling after retirement. She recently visited Europe and Hawaii with family. She will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her. She was the rock of our family.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Lynne (Bill) Richards of Hoover, AL and Lisa (Chris) Casey of Pompano Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Kristyn, Nicholas, and Kathryn; two sisters, Iris Franciosi of Boynton Beach, FL and Kathy Lambert of Leominster, MA; two brothers, Kenny McKenney of Leominster, MA and Scott McKenney of Coral Springs, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held 10:30am Friday, November 30, 2012 at Boynton Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
