Margaret F (Bird) Sweeney "Peg", 95, of Boynton Beach, FL formerly of Woburn, MA passed away peacefully October 8, 2024. Margaret was born on April 17, 1929, to the late Roland and Charlotte (Tellier) Bird of Roslindale.

Margaret is predeceased by her parents and siblings, husband Robert Sr., son Kevin and grandson Taylor Jewett. She is survived by her daughters Diane Sweeney (Barry McNamara) of Wells ME; Janet Jewett (Randy) of Liberty ME; Karen Blacquier (David) of Medford, MA; son Robert "Bob" Sweeney Jr. of Boynton Beach FL and grandsons Joshua Jewett (Rachel) of Liberty ME, Andrew and Christopher Blacquier of Medford, MA and Great-grandsons Sam, Calvin, Tyler (Sara) and great-great granddaughter Ella.

Margaret grew up in Roslindale, the oldest daughter of 7 children. She married the love of her life Bob Sweeney in 1954 and together they had 5 children. They moved to Woburn where she raised her children until she retired and moved to Florida in the mid-90s.

It was there in Florida, Jamaica Bay that she really came to life. She and Bob enjoyed traveling, entertaining and embraced the retired Florida life.

Peg loved to be involved in the community where she lived. She was an active member of the Jamaica Bay board (Treasurer), worked on the JB Newscaster committee, and was bingo Chairperson for many years. She was an avid card player, enjoyed playing pool at the local American Legion, and most recently enjoyed Swedish weaving – making wonderful blankets for family and friends to enjoy. She also was a die-hard Miami Heat fan and enjoyed a special rivalry with her son Bob, a Celtics fan.

Peg will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to our good friend Linda Lavoie for all she did for our mother and family these past several months.
