Peggy Kaye Arterburn, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026. Born on January 21, 1943 in Harvey, Illinois Peggy was the cherished daughter of Arthur Lee Nash and Edith Doris(Orahood) Nash.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Lawrence, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage, after marrying on April 11, 1964, in Harvey, IL. Together, they raised three children: Kimberly (Tracey) Garst of Winnebago, IL, William (Laurie) Arterburn of Boynton Beach, FL, and Shari (Barry) Dubinsky of Lake Worth, FL. Peggy was also a proud grandmother to Dalton and Ryan (Aubrey Noto) Garst, Noah (Alyssa) Arterburn, Jonah (Kimberlee) Arterburn, Elijah Arterburn, Joshua (Mackenzie) Dubinsky, and Caleb (Hannah) Dubinsky. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Stella and Malia Arterburn, Juliet Arterburn, and Lacie Dubinsky. Peggy is also survived by her loving sisters, Donna Rogers and Cheryl Daniels. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Martha Nash, Imogene Millsaps, Iona Gray, Bonnie Merchant, Ida Ravesloot, and her brother George Nash.

Peggy graduated in 1961 from Thornton Township High School (Harvey, IL). Peggy worked in various roles, including as a typist in the Invoice Department at Allis- Chalmers in Harvey, IL, in Loss Prevention for Walgreens National Disbursing Office in Danville, IL, assembling venetian blinds for Levelor, and in medical device assembly at Lafayette Pharmaceutical in Lafayette, IN.

Peggy and Lawrence shared many leisurely days on the golf course, often playing 18 holes and then deciding on another round, just because they could. Her love for her family was undeniable, and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known for her humor, Peggy delighted in sharing silly jokes and was famous for offering "ice cream for breakfast" to her out-of- state grandsons, which they very much remember and enjoyed. She was always ready for a game of Phase 10 or Uno (including one round of "Nerf gun Uno"). Her children remember many games of Pinochle at their house, with Peggy and her sisters. They were such a fun bunch who always got along and always agreed on everything (lol & smh). Their love and respect for one another was evident and was a wonderful example of what supportive family means - in good times and bad. The 4th of July pool parties Peggy and Larry hosted are fondly remembered, with all the aunts and their families gathering for a fun day of swimming, followed by fireworks at the Thornton Quarry.

Peggy's life was a testament to love, resilience, and family. Peggy's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her. A private celebration of life will be held in Peggy's honor. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to VITAS HealthCare Inpatient Hospice in Delray Beach for their compassionate care during Peggy's final days.
