Peter John Maffucci, 93, Boynton Beach, Florida. Passed away suddenly on Monday, September 17, 2018.

Peter was born in Brooklyn, NY to Patrick Maffucci and Mildred Bordo where he and his brother Alfred formed a special life-long bond. He married the love of his life Ruth (Sindel) and raised two children, Howard (Tina) and Patricia (Anthony) in Beach Haven, Brooklyn and Smithtown, Long Island.

Peter worked for over thirty-years for Abraham and Straus, moving from store to store, before settling in Florida and enjoying many years as a mutual clerk at the Palm Beach Kennel Club. Peter was known to greet people with a simple, "hey lucky."

He was an inspiration to all. He lived tolerance, compassion, independence, personal responsibility and "keeping the main thing, the main thing." His family would like to acknowledge and thank the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for all the assistance to help a stubborn WWII veteran with severe neuropathy and a fierce determination to live independently his way.

Peter is survived by his children, their spouses, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
