Peter Di Matteo, age 91, passed away peacefully in his seasonal Florida home,
surrounded by his family on Friday, August 4, 2023.

He was born April 22, 1932 and raised in Brooklyn, NY to Anna and Bernard Di Matteo and was 1 of 4 siblings.

After serving his time in the Army, Peter met his wife Rita, while working as a commercial painter on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge in upstate NY and later moved to Sloatsburg NY to raise their family and be closer to the business he partnered- E.Daskal Corp- a structural steel and fabrication company, specializing in bridge repair.

He was a hard worker and a dedicated family man, who also made time to enjoy horse racing and occasional trips to the casinos.

Peter is survived by his wife Rita, their 3 daughters- Debbie Maxwell, Deanna and husband Jim Christianson;
Linda Hussey; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother Bernard and wife Abbe Di Matteo;   sister in-law Linda De Matteo and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his mother Anna and father Bernard Di Matteo, sister Marie Scotto brother Robert De Matteo.

Florida visitation will be held on Monday August 7th at Boynton Memorial Chapel from 2-4pm.
