Peter Thomas Zarcadoolas, a long-time Boynton Beach resident, passed away January 15, 2017. Peter was known by the name of Papou, which means grandpa in Greek. His mother and father immigrated to the US from Greece in the early 1900's. He was born in New York City, on February 13, 1939. He was the youngest of 7 children. He was a dreamer, a storyteller and a devoted son. At the tender age of 13, he worked at the 5 th Avenue public library, where he acquired some avid reading skills. Peter was happily married for 40 years to Dorothy Capuano, a remarkable woman. They had 5 beautiful children together. He was a restaurateur, and his life revolved around food. Hot dogs with mustard and sauerkraut were some of his all-time favorites. Another wonderful woman, Johanna entered his life and they had been together for 18 years. Peter was larger than life, had a great presence, and his voice could be heard miles away. He had a heart of gold and was generous to the less fortunate. He leaves behind, his wife, Johanna, his brother, 9 children, 23 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a multitude of family members and friends.
A Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:30pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach. A Funeral Service will begin 1:30pm Wednesday, followed by burial at Boynton Beach Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting you make a donation to a charity dear to your heart.Visitation
