Raymond D'Alessandro of Delray Beach, FL passed in peace Wed., May 19, 2021 in the comfort of his home at the age of 100. He was born in Anversa Abruzzi, Italy November 23 rd , 1920 and came to America October 1937. Once married, he resided with his family in Floral Park, NY until he retired after working 32 years on the railroad. He started with New York Central, then Penn Central and finally Conrail as a much-respected Conductor. Once retired, he and his wife Marie moved to Delray Beach, FL in 1986 where they enjoyed their retirement years. He was a WWII Veteran and proudly served in the United States Army as an accomplished Sergeant touring in Africa, Germany, Italy and France. Beloved son of the late Elena and Joseph D'Alessandro and beloved brother of the late Anna Ricci and Antoinette Cupaiolo. Beloved husband of the late Marie who passed 4 years ago at the age of 96. They were married 70 years and celebrated their last anniversary together joyfully with their family. He was a beloved father and is survived by his son Dominick (Freda,) and his daughters Elena (Joseph), Paula and Carol. He was also a beloved grandfather and great-grandfather survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. To pay last respects to a true hero, a viewing is scheduled at Boynton Memorial Chapel at 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33426 on Mon., May 24 th from 2- 4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church at 10935 S. Military Trail, Boynton Beach, FL 33436 on Tues., May 25 th at 12 noon. Immediately following will be a military service in his honor and burial at Boynton Beach Memorial Park and Mausoleum located at 1611 S. Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33435.
