Robert Stephen Barnes, Sr.

Age 83 passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2015 surrounded by much of his loving family. He was born on March 30, 1931 in Three Rivers, Michigan to Harry and Marjorie (Shafer) Barnes. A graduate of Howe Military School and the University of Michigan, he married Kim Var Ly his beloved wife of 40 years in Cambodia on December 7, 1974. Bob, a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army for 25 years was stationed in France, Germany, Vietnam and Cambodia. He is survived by his wife Kim and his children, Stephen, Michael, Yvette, Dwayne, Andrea and Theresa; 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and a large extended family. A Graveside Service will be scheduled for a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church, 2929 S. Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33435.
