Age 55 of Boynton Beach died Thursday, December 26, 2013. He was born December 8, 1958 in Pontiac, MI. Bob was a spiritual leader of the First Presbyterian Church of Delray Beach. He served the congregation in innumerable ways. Bob was an Elder, Trustee, and Deacon. As Chair of the Property Committee, he was instrumental in the design and construction of the new Holly House. Bob also served as Chair of the Personnel Committee, the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee, the Interim Pastor Nominating Committee and the Parking Committee. He was President of the Men's Club and served as a Stephen Minister.
Bob was a devoted member of the Rotary Club of Delray Beach. He served as President of the club and was on its Board of Directors. He was involved in all aspects of the Club activities, being in charge of the planning of projects to raise money for scholarships for Atlantic High School students to go to college. He took great joy in presenting books to third-grade students, reading to children at the Achievement Center, and shopping for the holiday food program. Bob was involved in whatever was required to be accomplished.

Bob is survived by his parents, Walter and Nancy Teninga of Village of Golf, FL; sister, Laurie W. Vyselaar of Wellington, FL; niece, Ashley Vyselaar; and nephew, Walter Vyselaar.

A Memorial Service will be held 11am Saturday, January 11, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church of Delray Beach. Contributions may be made in Bob's memory to the Robert Teninga Memorial Scholarship Fund, established for employees and their families, the Mission Outreach Committee, or to the Remembrance Fund, all at First Presbyterian Church of Delray Beach, 33 Gleason St., Delray Beach, FL 33483.
