Robert W. Minton, 75, of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of West Nyack, New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 21, 2007 with his family at his side.
Robert was born in Dobbs Ferry, New York. He graduated from Manhattan Prep High School. He entered the US Navy and proudly served from 1951-1953. He had a love of the sea, and was employed as a deck hand at Moran Towing for 25 years. He lived in West Nyack for 36 years, eventually moving to Boynton Beach in 2002. He was an avid sports fan, especially the NY Rangers, NY Mets, and NY Giants. He loved sports, and excelled in softball, baseball, football, bowling, and golf. Robert is predeceased by his parents George E. and Florence C. Minton. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alicia; children Florence Minton, Susan (Kevin) Minton-Niblo, and Barbara (Bob) Hayes; and grandchildren Robert Minton Jr., Kristina Wolanski, Kyle Christopher Niblo, and Kristi Sue Niblo. A beautiful memorial service was held under the direction of Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33426. Interment will take place at the South Florida VA National Cemetery in Lake Worth. Condolences may be sent to the family in care of the funeral home.
