Obituary

Roderick Acuña Granado, 64, passed away on November 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on June 30, 1961, in Quezon City, Philippines, Roderick lived a life shaped by creativity, faith, humor, and a deep affection for the people around him.

Roderick had a vibrant and imaginative spirit. He loved cooking and sharing meals, spending time with friends and family, and expressing his creativity in many different ways. Preparing Filipino dishes was one of his greatest joys. He often cooked for parties and community gatherings, and his food became a highlight of these events. These moments meant so much to him—not just because he could cook, but because they gave him the chance to laugh, socialize, and connect with the community he cared for so deeply. His friends admired not only his cooking, but also his humor, warmth, and the way he brought every gathering to life.

He also found joy in decorating. Whether preparing the house for Christmas, arranging the interior with care, or transforming the yard into a welcoming space, Roderick poured his creativity into every detail. He had a special love for antiques and Asian-inspired décor, and he incorporated these influences into his home to create surroundings that were warm, meaningful, and beautifully personal. Everywhere he lived, he left a touch of his artistic eye.

Roderick was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his ability to make others laugh, and his strong Catholic faith, which guided him through every season of life. He lived with kindness, patience, and generosity, and he passed those same values on to his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nimfa Granado, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage, and by his two grateful sons, Fitzpatrick and Ezekiel Granado, who will forever carry his love and guidance with them.

Roderick leaves behind a legacy of compassion, creativity, respect, and the quiet reminder to live with patience and joy. Rooted throughout his life in his deep Catholic faith, he now rests in the eternal peace of God's love. As St. Paul writes in Romans 8:31b–35, 37–39:

"If God is for us, who can be against us? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?…                                                                                           In all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Nothing in all creation                                                                                       will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

May he now rest fully in that love, which he embraced so faithfully throughout his life.
