Roland Joseph Vadnais, 90, of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016.
Roland is survived by his wife Mary of 62 years, son Victor Vadnais and his wife Susan of Port St. Lucie, FL, daughter Karen and her husband Keith of Boynton Beach, FL, son Roland Vadnais of West Palm Beach, FL, daughter Valeri and her husband Walt of Lake Worth, FL, son Marc Vadnais of Coleman, FL, brother Robert Vadnais of Colorado, sister Dolly Hite of Valdosta, GA, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Roland served in the U.S.Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He belonged to both the VFW and the American Legion.
Roland was a toolmaker by trade and worked for 25 years for Scovill Manufacturing Company in Connecticut followed by a 10-year career with Stimpson Company in Pompano Beach, Florida. He enjoyed playing golf and was also an avid bowler. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, having come from a family of six brothers and six sisters and also, having his own family of three sons and two daughters, which meant that summer picnics, family get-togethers, and holiday celebrations, always promised to have many family members in attendance. He was a football fan of the Miami Dolphins, a baseball fan of the New York Yankees, and enjoyed watching golf most Sundays following many of the PGA's greatest players.
A Visitation will be held from 3pm to 7pm Wednesday, October 19, 2016 with a Wake Service at 6pm at Boynton Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30am Thursday, October 20, 2016 at St. Luke Catholic Church, Lake Worth followed by burial at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth (LANE 3).
