Rosalind Clara Markhouse (April 23, 1937-July 26, 2022)

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rosalind (nee Rocco) Markhouse.   She passed away peacefully on July 26 th , 2022 at her Florida home.

Rosalind is pre-deceased by her parents Carmine & Elizabeth Rocco and her  beloved brother Frederick Rocco (January 27th, 2022).

She was born in Manhattan and attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art.  She graduated from the University of Miami.

She is survived by her loving husband (of 62 years) Douglas and her adoring nieces Eileen Rocco of Hawthorne, N.J, Marilyn Stolte and husband Bill of Long Valley, N.J. and Lorraine Reynolds and husband Jim of Ridgewood, N.J.  In addition, she is survived by many cousins and great nieces & nephews.  She was lovingly known as "Aunt Roz".

She lived most of her adult life in the small Hudson River enclave of Hastings-on-Hudson, Westchester, N.Y.  It was here that she displayed her horticultural talents with beautiful flower gardens.

She started her career in the cosmetic field with D.C.I. as a sales manager and quickly rose through the ranks to become group publisher.

In 1997, she went to work with her husband, serving as vice president, at a newly founded company they both developed called Octagon Communications, where they published the trade magazine Microwave Product Digest.  She and her husband Doug were the original "power couple".

In 2017 she moved to Del-Ray Beach Florida full time.  She loved traveling the world,  going to the theatre, opera, and ballet.   She also enjoyed reading historical novels and mysteries. Her culinary skills were well known among her family and friends.

She will be missed by many!
