IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosita
Olivares
December 20, 1935 – January 13, 2024
Rosita Olivares, a beloved soul, age 88, passed away January 13, 2024. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and selfless devotion. She was the adored wife of Enrique Olivares, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.
She was the daughter of Natalia Eufemia Tejada Bonilla and Ruperto Pluas Merchan.
In her early years, Rosita has always had a heart of giving. In Ecuador, she was an elementary school teacher. After marrying Enrique, she became a housewife and cared for their three children, Maria Olivares-Clarke, Cesar Olivares, and Jacqueline Olivares- Atchisson. The family came to the US and she settled here in 1984. Rosita worked as a florist for over 15 years. She retired, changing her priority to be the best Abuela for her five grandchildren: Enrique Olivares, Brian Olivares, Jonathan Clarke, William Atchisson, and Natalia Atchisson.
Rosita enjoyed time with her family. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart, and she wanted to make sure they knew how proud she was of all of them before her passing. She was the abuela that made sure you never went hungry. If you came to her house out of the blue, she'd make sure you left 5 pounds heavier with her delicious rice and beans. If you were sick, she'd make you the best chicken soup. She gave everyone around her love and guidance, and never asked for anything in return.
Rosita is survived by her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren. She was the heart of our family, and today we celebrate the joy and warmth she's given us in our lives, as we mourn the loss of her physical presence.
