Obituary

Rune Lundquist was born on May 7, 1927 in Bengtsfors, Sweden. He was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers and one sister. Rune is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol (Lindeman) Lundquist, a son Erik Lundquist (Debra) in CT. a daughter Mona Hecht (Kenneth) on LI and 2 grandchildren, Griffin Lundquist and Paige Lundquist. Rune was trained as a furniture maker in Sweden. He moved to the United States in 1947. He worked on many hotel and apartment building projects in New York City including his first job in the construction of the United Nations General Assembly building. Rune spent over 25 years in the construction department of F.W Woolworth Co. retiring as construction supervisor. He resided for many years in Garden City, New York, before relocating to Boynton Beach, FL in 1997. Rune was a member of the Manhem Club in NY, the Nordic Heritage Club in Florida and a former member of Vasa Order's Royal Palm Lodge, as well as being a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Delray Beach. A Memorial Service is being held at 2pm on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 400 Swinton Ave., Delray Beach, with Pastor Kenneth Larson officiating. Boynton Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach is in charge of arrangements.
