IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Salvatore Anthony
Cintorino
March 1, 1933 – August 4, 2022
Sal is survived by his loving wife Frances of 64 years, daughter Antonina and her husband Hale Whisler, daughter Caterina and husband Frank Salina, and grandchildren Brianna Tredinnick, Anthony Tredinnick, and Tiffany Whisler.
Born in 1933, Sal was raised in Brooklyn, New York where he attended New Utrecht High School. Following graduation, he worked to pursue his love of baseball, having the opportunity to try-out for the Brooklyn Dodgers double-A minor league team. In 1952, he enlisted in military service for the United States Air Force. Cintorino remained stateside and toured the nation playing ball representing Donaldson Air Force base (Greenville, South Carolina). After completing his service, Sal enrolled in Brooklyn College where he studied drafting and electrical engineering. He went to work at Sears Roebuck starting out as a TV repairman; eventually becoming a division manager in retail. During this time, he met the love of his life, Frances Palaia, at a local church dance, and they were married in 1958. Years later, they moved to Howard Beach, Queens, where they raised their two daughters. Over the next couple of decades, Sal picked up oil painting as a hobby. He attended classes at the esteemed New York Art Student League, honing his craft, studying techniques of the Old Masters. In 1986, he moved his family to Boynton Beach, Florida. Sal put his drafting experience to work, becoming a kitchen designer at The Home Depot. After a long career there, he moved on to selling real estate for Century 21. Sal ultimately decided to retire and answer his true calling: teaching art. His oil paintings displayed his natural ability, amazing talent, patience, and love for the classical realist style portrayed his work. He continued to teach until 2018, but had not stopped painting until last year. You can view Sal's beautiful paintings on his Facebook site: Sal Anthony Cintorino, Artist.
