Obituary

Age 88 has passed away on Thursday July 12, 2018 at the Bethesda Hospital West in Boynton Beach, FL concluding a very short battle with cancer. Sal was born on July 25, 1929 in Medford, Massachusetts to Salvatore and Mary Fontana and the brother to three brothers and one sister. After graduating high school, Sal enlisted into the United States Navy where he served in the Korean War. While Stationed in Memphis, Tennessee he met the love of his life at a dance in town. Sal and Maureen were soon married and had two beautiful children, Diane & Michael. Sal was best known for his expertise with sheet metal. Many would even consider him an industrial genius. The man knew his way around the workshop! His neighbors referred to him as their own personal MacGyver as he was always there to save the day. Sal was committed to his family and those around him. He was a true kid magnet and warmed the hearts of everyone who encountered him with his silly sense of humor, cute cartoon impersonations, and unconditional love.
Sal is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen; daughter, Diane; son, Michael; granddaughter, Michelle; and two great grandchildren, Jonathan & Riley.

Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Boynton Memorial Chapel.  Interment will be private at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth.
