Obituary


After a courageous 30 year battle with Parkinsons disease, Salvatore Garofalo, age 82, of Boynton Beach, FL, died peacefully on November 18th, 2018 with family and friends by his side.  Sal was a kind, humorous, generous, loving father, husband, brother, Uncle, Grandfather, and friend. Before retiring to Florida, Sal resided in South Windsor, CT, where he owned and operated a successful company, S & R Sanitation.  He donated to many charitable causes; was an active member in the  Rotary Club of South Windsor; and was instrumental in securing the "jaws of life" safety equipment for S.W. Fire Department.  He enjoyed card games, Jai alai, Standardbred harness horse racing, playing and watching golf especially the ladies of the LPGA.  He also loved the Hartford Whalers, supported UConn Athletics, and was part of the UConn Field Hockey family.

He is predeceased by his wife Jackie and his siblings, Art, Joe, Lucy and Mary Jane.  He is survived by his children Salvatore Garofalo the 3rd, Lori Garofalo (Uccello) and her husband Tony, Geno Interlandi, Frank Interlandi and his wife Kerrie, Tracy Garofalo and her husband Wayne, Donna Garofalo, along with loving Grand Children, Great Grand children, Nieces and Nephews.

A Celebration Of Life luncheon will be held on Friday, November 30th beginning at Noon until 3:30 pm at Benvenuto's Restaurant, 1730 N. Federal Highway, Boynton Beach, FL 33435. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethesda Hospital Foundation, Boynton Beach, FL (561) 737-7733  or Trustbridge Hospice Foundation (561) 494-6887.
