It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel "Sam" Concepcion, 79 of Delray Beach, FL on Friday, December 1, 2023 after a long illness. Born in New York to Jose and Esperanza Concepcion, he grew up in Staten Island with his 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Sam worked as a civilian in the Coast Guard on Governors Island before moving with his family to Florida. The clear waters of Florida provided the perfect place for Sam to enjoy one of his favorite pastimes, fishing.

Sam was known for his sparkling brown eyes and his captivating personality. He could lighten any room with his vibrant spirit and zest for life. His love for music, particularly jazz, was contagious and brought job to everyone around him. He also had an infectious enthusiasm for dancing, his feet often taking over and leading the way in a whirl of movement he made countless memories that will continue to resonate with all who knew him. He enjoyed the time he spent with his family whether it was manning the BBQ, swimming in the pool or playing Santa for his grandson Mason.

He leaves behind his son Samuel (Justine) Concepcion and his daughter Karen Concepcion who will carry his legacy forward. His joyous spirit will continue to live on through his cherished grands, Mason Concepcion. Sam also leaves behind his ex-wife Kathryn Concepcion, his sister Gladys Segarra, his girlfriend, Susan Faurot, his nieces and nephews and Carter Klein and Caitlyn Klein (his second family) with whom he shared many cherished memories.

While his physical presence will be deeply missed, his indomitable spirit, and the memories he's left behind will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him as his spirit lives on in our hearts and memories. His absence will deeply be felt by his family, friends and the countless lives he touched.
