Skip Marsh, of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away on March 13, 2015. Skip, a native Floridian was born in Palm Beach County to Troy and Evelyn Marsh of Delray Beach. Growing up in the nursery business he developed an early love of fishing. That love led to working on fishing boats and eventually opening his own rod building business called Skip Marsh Custom Rods. Several world records were caught on his rods. He was innovative in the development of stand up tackle and an early proponent of tag and release. Skip was a graduate of the class of 1965 at Seacrest High School and went on to become an electrician as a member of Local 323 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Prior to 1989 he was employed primarily by Fischbach and Moore - Florida Division, beginning as a supervisor, then foreman he ended his employment there managing electrical construction on 1 to 9 million dollar projects. From 1989 until his death, he was Director of Facility Management at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis. Skip enjoyed travel, fishing, hunting and his beloved friends. He was a member of various wildlife conservation groups as well as Florida Healthcare Engineering Association, American Society for Healthcare Engineering, National Fire Protection Association, and Health Facility Institute. Skip is survived by his wife of 25 years Jayedda, mother Evelyn Marsh, brother Gordon & Jan Marsh, sister Yvonne VanDorn, grandson William Marsh, daughter-in law Shelby Marsh, sister -in-laws Bonnie Allan, Sharon Vantilburg, Susan Faurot, Charlotte & Charlie Thomas his nieces - Cassandra & Matthew Owens, Kelly Lynn Chenault, Carianne & Philliip Nimblette, Denice & Kevin Morris, Jennifer Allan, Carol & Martin Klein, Cheryl, his nephews James & Deanna Allan, Jeffrey Allan, Michael Faurot, Tyler Snodgrass, Chris Thomas, his great nieces Brittany Nimblette, Megan Owens, Victoria Morris, Courtney & Justin Clermont, his great nephews Alexander Owens, Phillip Nimblette, Jr. Christopher Nimblette, Christopher Allan, Nicolas Allan, Joel Morris and his great great nephew Skylar & great great neice Aria.
A Memorial Service will be held 1pm Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Boynton Memorial Chapel, Boynton Beach. Attire for the service should be casual. Shorts, shirts and boat shoes welcome! Please no suits and ties. Carpooling suggested.
A gathering will follow at Jack's Grumpy Grouper, 308 N. Dixie Hwy., Lantana, FL 33462 from 2pm to 5pm. (cash bar and finger food platters)
