Susan Roby Zabkar, 75, died of ovarian cancer on October 4 in Boynton Beach, Fla. With her were her three daughters. Born in Hartford, Conn., Susan graduated from Weaver High School and built a successful career, retiring as a vice-president at Covenant Insurance. She traveled the world, visiting more than 30 countries. With her friends, or her family, she enjoyed life and was always eager for new adventures.

Susan was devoted to her children and treasured grandchildren, embracing every moment they spent together especially during holidays. Her personality was vivacious and her laugh infectious. She made friends easily, from decades-old friends in Connecticut, to friends in Texas, Utah and her final home in Florida. Throughout her life she faced adversity with strength, courage and hope.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, Dorothea and Leo Roby, and her siblings Carol Roby Roberts and Brian Roby. She is survived by her daughters, Robin Ross and spouse Greg, Kimberly Kuehn, Katie McChesney and spouse David, and eight beloved grandchildren Amanda, Alex, Andrew, Anna, Aidan, Dayla, Paxie, and Grayson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Lynette Roby Barr, nieces, nephews, cousins, and her many friends.

Memorial services in Florida, Connecticut and Utah are being planned.  It was Susan's wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the American Cancer Association.
