IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas B.
Duane
December 30, 1934 – November 1, 2025
Tom lived an amazing life! He was married to Louise (Ahrens) for 67 years and together they built a family that became his greatest joy and proudest legacy. Tom also leaves behind four children: Thomas Kevin, Lisa Marie, Kenneth John, James Michael, as well as four daughters-in-law: Diane, Tina, Karen and Amy. Tom enjoyed his 14 grandchildren and leaves behind: Rachael, Hannah, Bruce, Joseph, Gregory, Thomas, Abigail, Kristen, Kevin, Rebecca, Keith, Roy, Kassidy, and Katy, as well as 9 great-grandchildren: Olivia, Solène, Douglas, Dallas, Aaron, Luke, Ryleigh, Raelynn, and another coming in February. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Thomas D. and Elizabeth, as well as his beloved sister Joyce. He loved talks with his brother George and best friend of many decades, Rocky Brindisi. Tom loved all of his nieces and nephews as well. Family was everything to him!
Tom proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War, and later proudly served his community as a firefighter for many years in New Rochelle, New York. It was in his nature to help, protect, and give. Over the years, he donated 18 gallons of blood to help sick babies - a true testament to his kindness and compassion. Tom was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and especially enjoyed discussing the games with his son, Kenny. Those who knew Tom knew he had a deep love for German shepherds. He had many of these loyal pets over the years, fitting for a man who was loyal to his core. Tom never met anyone who didn't like him. He was kind, had a great sense of humor, and was strong – both physically and in his Catholic faith. He was proud of his Irish heritage and fondly recalled his trips to Europe. Other than family, Tom leaves a legacy of being upbeat and positive – through all his illness and even in his final days, he always saw the glass as half-full, never felt sorry for himself, and always said "I have nothing to complain about!" Tom will be greatly missed by many, and his memory will live on in all of those who adored him. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his memory to S.H.A.R.E. at contact@shepherdhelp.org
