Vincent M. Delio, "Vinnie", 76, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, October 16, 2017, with his loving wife of 55 years, Lois, "Lollie" (Tamchin), by his side.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 9, 1941, son of the late James and Frances (Zawrotniak) Delio. Vinnie grew up in Brooklyn and Forest Hills, NY, and was a resident of Syosset, NY for 41 years before moving to Boynton Beach. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters and their spouses, and five grandchildren: Donna and John Kennedy of Ronkonkoma, NY and their daughter Michelle and her fiancé Tom Stella of Holbrook, NY, and son John; and Danielle and Bill Sharp of Fairfield, CT and their children Emily, Calvin, and Audrey. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Shirley Tamchin.
He was predeceased by his father-in –law, Arnold Tamchin and sister-in-law, Ronni Chester. Vinnie leaves loving cousins, a nephew and niece, and brother-in-laws.
Vinnie was a graduate of Forest Hills High School and proudly received a Bachelor of Science from St. John's University with his wife and children by his side. He had a legendary work ethic, which was imparted on to his children and grandchildren. He worked for many years as a Court Officer, and then as a Court Clerk in Queens Supreme Court where he earned the utmost respect from anyone who came in contact with him, to those who knew him well, including countless co-workers, lawyers and judges.
Vinnie was a lifelong Mets and Jets fan and an avid tennis player. He was a loyal, dedicated and caring friend to many. His love of family and pride in his children and grandchildren was boundless. Above all, Vinnie was a devoted husband to Lollie, whom he met in junior high at the respective ages of 14 and 13. Touching the lives of everyone he knew, Vinnie will be greatly and forever missed. He was Mr. Delio, Grandpa V, Vinnace and The Pickle.
A memorial service celebrating Vinnie's life will be held at The Boynton Memorial Chapel 800 West Boynton Beach Boulevard, Boynton Beach, Florida on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made in his memory to the Cascade Lakes Chapter of PAP Corps and mailed to Harriet Yogel, 5367 Landon Circle, Boynton Beach, FL 33437.
