Obituary
Wayne Marshall Upton of Boynton Beach, FL passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on January 29, 2015.
Wayne was born in Portland, ME and grew up in the South Portland area. He graduated from South Portland High in 1956. During high school, Wayne joined the Naval Reserves and later joined the US Navy and attended Auburn University. He started his career McDonnell Aircraft in Long Island, NY. He later worked for IBM and enjoyed a 30 year career, retiring in 1990.
Wayne was a wonderful husband and father and he enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies and sports including: Bowling, Golf, Pool and Art.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, brother Clarence Smith, and sister Flora Brown. He is survived by his wife Geraldine; two sisters,Marlene Link and Joanne Gagnon of South Portland, ME; two daughters, Cindy Robert (Mike) of Delray Beach, FL and Donna Carter of Boynton Beach, FL; four sons, David Upton (Liz) of Cary, NC, Bill Upton (Tina) of LaVergne, TN, Craig Dicker (Lisa) of Plymouth, WI, and Paul Dicker(Dawn) of Ft Lauderdale, FL; 14 Grandchildren; and 8 Great-Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1pm to 4pm Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Jamaica Bay Community Clubhouse, Boynton Beach.
