Age 91 of Boynton Beach and formerly North Fort Myers, FL died Friday, July 26, 2013. He retired from Lee County Building Dept. in 1996. Bill was a WWII veteran serving his country in the US Navy. He was very active in many veteran and military organizations. He had a passion for flying and built his own gyrocopters. Bill was very social and enjoyed dancing and just about any social event that involved family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Larkin. Bill is survived by three daughters; Suzanne LaPolla, Kathleen Norem (Bill Staples) and Jane Laubenheimer (Ron); seven grandchildren, Betsy LaPolla, Jimmy LaPolla; Ronny Laubenheimer; Kristi Dymond (Nick), Kate Norem, Kari Hohner (Chris), Kelli Norem; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew, Logan, Dylan, Gavan, Charlotte, Nate and Storma; a sister, Jeanne Maloney; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:30am Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Boynton Memorial Chapel. Friends may arrive beginning at 11am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors at woundedwarriorsproject.org.
