Zbigniew "Sidney" Dobecki, 71 of Lake Worth, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 5th, after a valiant battle with heart disease.

Zbigniew was born on December 25th, 1949 to Boleslaw and Irena Dobecki in Pruszcz Gdanski, Poland. In his twenties, Zbigniew worked in shipyard construction where he developed a strong work ethic that he carried throughout his life. He began a family with his wife Barbara, and two sons, Krzysztof and Jacek before immigrating to the United States in 1989 where he initially settled in Chelsea, MA. Once in the U.S., Zbigniew held a career as an industrial mechanic for over 30 years and spent the majority of those years in Auburn, GA before retiring to Lake Worth, FL.

Zbigniew is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara; his sons and daughters-in-law, Krzysztof (Donna) and Jacek (Chrystal); three grandchildren, Gracemarie, Evelena and Zachary; brother and sister-in-law Jurek (Krystyna) and nephews Andrew and Mark.

Zbigniew dedicated his time helping his family live a successful life. This commitment to his family made him a force of nature. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his sons' families and three grandchildren, who were all a great source of pride. In his free time, he was a passionate gardener, enjoyed working on cars and was a sports enthusiast.

Zbignew lived a full life devoted to his wife and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, family and friends around the globe.
